Urban Chef Outfitters was born out of necessity with the motto: Service / Quality / Knowledge.
Urban Chef Outfitters is not a traditional knife and tool shop but a specialty retailer of culinary tools for the professional chef. We offer knives, uniforms, kitchen utensils, accessories, footwear, and dessert molds, with an emphasis on customized knife kits and uniform sets for schools and restaurants throughout Arizona.
In late 1998 chef and entrepreneur Noah Srebnick established Urban Chef Outfitters. With an unbiased view he offers his clientele the information necessary to make knowledgeable and informed purchases.
Noah graduated from the Culinary Arts Program at Scottsdale Community College in 1991 with an A.A.S. in Culinary Arts. After several years of working in the industry as a pastry and personal chef he returned to school and received his B.S in Nutrition from Arizona State University in 1996. In 1997 he was hired as a heath inspector, inspecting restaurants and working with the FDA to develop HACCP programs for fast food establishments. As a knife collector, his interest in metallurgy and knife making led him to a deeper understanding of the intricacies of blade quality and branding. With a knowledge base of professional Chefs, Engineers and Knife Makers he opened Urban Chef Outfitters.
His view is simple, the best tools are not always the most expensive but the ones that fit best in your hands, balancing affordability and comfort. The materials that make up each item will determine how long they will last, how well they will function, and how easy they are to maintain. Take your time, investigate, and question.
